The Reflective IR Sensor, in its simple plastic casing, houses an IR LED and IR phototransistor, offering a straightforward solution for detecting object reflectivity. Functioning over a range of approximately 2mm to 10mm, it excels when detecting light-colored objects within 5mm, making it perfect for close-range applications.

With high-speed processing, it acts as a rotary encoder by analyzing black and white striped encoder wheels to determine RPM. This compact, breadboard-friendly sensor is ideal for line-following robots, providing quick detect-and-respond capabilities. Easily soldered, it features clear markings to differentiate the LED from the phototransistor output.
