Stop fiddling with SD card sockets in the back of your latest gadget, and stretch out with a Micro SD Card Extender. This simple yet effective device provides a long flexible cable, a pseudo Micro SD card on one end, and a matching socket on the other.
Plug in the card half and attach the socket wherever you like, making it ideal for overcoming length constraints with 3D printers, single-board computers, and data-logging kits. Safeguard your device against wear and tear while easily accessing your micro SD card.
The extender features push-push sockets; insert the card to lock it and press again to release. A pictogram on the socket shows the correct orientation. Tested with a Replicator 3D printer, various Feathers, and a Raspberry Pi 3 Linux computer, it delivers speedy and error-free performance.
Note that it may not work in high-speed or high-noise environments. Also, some devices detect card mounting based on mechanical insertion, and this extender could confuse the host device as the card can be electrically removed without physical removal. It’s best used with systems where you can manually force a mount/unmount or replace the card only on reboot.
