The HRLV-MaxSonar-EZ sensor line stands out for its precision range-finding capabilities, efficiently supporting applications that demand low-voltage operation and space-saving designs. Offering high accuracy and high-resolution ultrasonic proximity detection, it comes in a compact package measuring less than one cubic inch.

With 1mm resolution and features like target-size compensation and internal speed-of-sound temperature compensation, it counters external noise effectively and maintains accuracy. Its detection range spans from 1mm to 5 meters, with range sensing from 30cm to 5 meters. Objects closer than 30cm are typically reported as 30cm.

Interface outputs include pulse width, analog voltage, and serial digital formats, supporting RS232 and TTL. The sensor is factory-calibrated and provides a reliable alternative where traditional Sharp IR distance sensors may fall short. For example, it's used with Arduino in a Halloween Pumpkin project, demonstrating its versatility.

For modifications, the default RS-232 logic level can be shifted to TTL by closing the jumper on the back. Different models in the HRLV line offer varied beamwidth patterns, catering to diverse requirements, while the LV models extend range capabilities up to 6.5 meters.
