Lithium-ion polymer batteries are thin, light, and powerful, offering versatility across a range of applications. With an output between 4.2V when fully charged and 3.7V during usage, these batteries reliably deliver energy where needed most.
This specific battery holds a capacity of approximately 100mAh, equating to about 0.4 Wh. It's ideal for compact, high-performance devices requiring a punchy power source. For larger power needs, explore our extensive selection of bigger cells.
Each battery includes a high-quality 2-pin JST-PH connector and built-in protection circuitry. This built-in protection keeps the voltage from going too high during charging or too low during use, cutting out at 3.0V. It also guards against output shorts to ensure safety.
Always use a dedicated LiIon/LiPoly constant-voltage/constant-current charger, like our recommended Micro Lipo charger, which offers a 100mA default rate. Charging should not exceed this rate and is conveniently available from any USB port when using a USB-powered charger. Note that these batteries do not include thermistors, highlighting the importance of controlled charging at or below 1C.
Caution is essential: never use NiMH, NiCad, or lead-acid chargers. Avoid exposing the battery to mechanical stress or using it unattended. Regularly inspect for damage or shorts. Matching polarity with Adafruit chargers and boards is crucial to avoid damage. Use these batteries if you’re skilled and comfortable working with power supplies.
