Adafruit Linear Bearing Supported Slide Rail - 15mm wide - 500mm long

Do the CNC electric-slide! To the left, now to the right. Now you have no excuse for not building that CNC robot. This is a 'supported style' 15mm wide slide rail that makes adding linear motion control easy.

This product is the slide rail itself only. It works perfectly with our 15mm Diameter Rail Smaller Slider and the 15mm Diameter Rail Larger Slider. Made of precision stainless-steel, this precision railing can be cut down to any size, but you'll need tools that can handle hardened stainless steel.

The stainless steel rail is strong and straight, but works best when bolted down. Holes in the base allow easy attachment to any metal or wood surface. Unlike our rounded rail, this style can support a platform of up to 5 lbs without needing additional support.

For best stability, it's advisable to use two rails along with two or more rail sliders. Note that these are 'hobby' grade slide rails—the slider only moves with force applied, such as a motor! While they provide good quality for DIY robotics projects, they won't match the smooth action of high-grade, expensive machine components.

Caution: Do not try to attach either slider onto the rail without the plastic insert! The insert keeps the ball bearings intact while fitting the slider. See the photos for detailed instructions. If a ball bearing or two go missing, the rail will still work, but it's best to keep them all in!
