This RGB LED board is designed with a common cathode (negative) pin that connects all color channels. Sparkfun has updated the design to this configuration, enabling the individual red, green, and blue LEDs to share a common ground tab. To activate each color individual LED, simply connect them to a power source. For easy circuit setups, connect the R, G, or B sew tabs to power (+) and set them to HIGH (for digital output) or 255 (for analog output) in your code.
The LilyPad is a wearable technology created by Leah Buechley and collaboratively designed by Leah and SparkFun. It's an innovative product with large connecting pads that allow it to be sewn into clothing. The LilyPad offers a variety of input, output, power, and sensor boards. Plus, it's washable!
Note: A part of the proceeds from this sale is given back to Dr. Leah Buechley for the continued development and education in the field of e-textiles.
