Adafruit Intel® Edison R2 Kit w/ Arduino Breakout Board

The Intel® Edison R2 Kit for Arduino is a compact computing platform engineered for seamless integration into various projects, particularly those involving the Internet of Things. It delivers robust performance through its 22 nm Intel SoC, featuring a dual-core, dual-threaded Intel Atom CPU at 500 MHz and a 32-bit Intel® Quark microcontroller at 100 MHz.

Despite being as small as an LED Matrix, this powerhouse supports 40 GPIOs, includes 1 GB LPDDR3, 4 GB EMMC, and offers dual-band WiFi and BTLE. The kit is equipped with a breakout board that is mostly compatible with the Arduino Uno layout, making the connection of Arduino breakout boards straightforward.

Technical specifications include a micro USB or standard USB-A connector, 6 analog inputs, 20 digital I/O pins, 1x UART, 1x I2C, and an ICSP 6-pin header for SPI. The board requires a 7V-15V DC input for power. The upgraded R2 version enhances connectivity with expanded Bluetooth support, enriched I/O library support, and additional sensors.

Cloud capabilities feature portal enhancements, RESTful device data access, and third-party service integration for messaging and notifications.
