Adafruit IC Socket - for 8-pin 0.3" Chips - Pack of 3

An IC socket facilitates the easy insertion and removal of chips from assembled kits or projects. This package includes three 8-pin 0.3" wide versions, ideal for chips with 8 pins (2x4) and 0.3" pin spacing.

Typically used for soldering into a Perma Proto or PCB, these sockets allow effortless chip replacement and swapping without the need for redesign. The standardized pin spacing ensures compatibility with any solderable PCB or protoboard, such as the Adafruit Perma-Proto Breadboard. Note that these sockets are not suitable for solderless breadboards due to insufficient pin length.
