Gravity: Non-contact Capacitive Flexible Liquid Level Sensor

This non-contact capacitive liquid level sensor features a flexible and lightweight design, making it versatile for various applications. Its temperature-resistant and waterproof 3M adhesive ensures secure attachment on non-conductive container surfaces with thicknesses up to 5mm. The sensor provides a digital high/low output, signaling low when liquid is detected, and connects via a 3-pin DuPont connector, allowing smooth integration into setups such as water tanks, beverage machines, and even scientific test tubes.

The sensor operates on a principle that utilizes the capacitive properties of water. In its idle state, the sensor maintains a static capacitance due to distributed capacitance. As liquid approaches, it couples with the sensor's static capacitance, increasing the total capacitance. This change triggers the control IC to convert the capacitance shift into an electrical signal, which is analyzed by a specific algorithm to determine the presence of liquid. Once the shift surpasses a predefined threshold, the liquid level is confirmed at the detection point.
