Add light-reactive sensing to your wearable Flora project with this high-precision Lux sensor. The TSL2561 luminosity sensor is an advanced digital light sensor, ideal for use in a wide range of light situations.
Compared to low-cost CdS cells, this sensor is more precise, allowing for exact lux calculations and can be configured for different gain and timing ranges to detect light ranges from 0.1 to over 40,000 Lux on the fly.
This sensor contains both infrared and full spectrum diodes, allowing you to separately measure infrared, full-spectrum, and human-visible light. This ability offers a more comprehensive representation of light conditions as human eyes perceive them.
The sensor operates on a digital (I2C) interface, making attachment to Flora straightforward. Simply line up the sensor adjacent to the SDA/SCL pins and connect using conductive thread. You can connect additional I2C sensors and outputs with the available SCL/SDA pins on the opposite side.
Designed with efficiency in mind, it draws only about 0.5mA during active sensing and less than 15μA in power-down mode. Comprehensive tutorials and library code for Arduino ensure seamless integration and immediate functionality.
