Adafruit DotStar Micro LEDs (APA102–2020) - Smart SMD RGB LED - 10 pack

These incredibly small surface-mount LEDs provide an efficient way to enhance your project with bright, colorful dots. They are mini versions of the digital DotStar strips and matrices, offering full chainable 2-wire control.

Measuring just 2mm by 2mm, they are extremely compact, smaller than APA102-5050-RGB LEDs, which may pose a challenge for hand soldering. Surface Mount Technology techniques with solder paste and hot air are recommended for optimal results.

Each LED contains three separate lights: red, green, and blue. The integrated chip accepts a 24-bit color level via a clock and data input and performs all the PWM control internally. You set the color data just once.

Like DotStars and NeoPixels, they can be chained together, with the output of one flowing into the input of the next, enabling nearly infinite-length strips. Available in strips of 10 pieces, these components are designed for SMD PCBs but can accommodate thin wires soldered to pads if needed.
