These LED strips are vibrant and dynamic, with 32 RGB LEDs per meter offering individual control for each LED. Digitally-addressable, you can customize the color of every LED using 7-bit PWM precision, delivering 21-bit color per pixel. The shift-registers that manage the LEDs allow flexibility in adjusting strip length.
Only two digital output pins are necessary for data transmission, and with built-in PWM, your microcontroller can focus on other tasks after colors are set. The LPD8806 chip features a high-speed 1.2 MHz PWM for each channel, ensuring smooth color transitions that surpass human perception.
Constructed from flexible PCB material with a protective weatherproof sheath, these strips are easy to manipulate. You can cut the strip every 2.5 inches (6.2 cm), which contains two LEDs, and connect or extend them as desired—just be mindful of current requirements.
To power these strips, a 5V DC power supply is essential. We offer a 5V/2A supply suitable for up to a meter and a 5V/10A supply for up to five meters or more if not fully lit simultaneously. The strips arrive in 5-meter reels with 4-pin JST SM connectors at each end, but are sold by meter increments.
Ensure correct connections using red for power, blue or black for ground, yellow for data, and green for the clock. Pay attention to directional arrows and pin labels on the strip to identify inputs and outputs. For convenience, consider using JST SM plug and receptacle cables for straightforward connections.
