Diffused 5mm tri-color LEDs integrate three LED chips—red, green, and blue—inside a single unit. This design allows for seamless color blending, creating a smooth color transition instead of displaying three distinct colors.
The RGB LEDs feature a 60-degree viewing angle, providing a broad spectrum of light dispersion. This Common-Anode type setup requires a connection of one pin to 5V, while the remaining pins are grounded using resistors. They are ideal for use with multi-LED driver chips like the TLC5940 and TLC5941.
Specifications include a wavelength of 630 nm for red, 525 nm for green, and 460 nm for blue LEDs. Forward voltages are 1.9-2.3V for red, and 3.0-3.4V for both green and blue, at 20mA current. Brightness levels are 3000 mcd for red, 5000 mcd for green, and 900 mcd for blue. Packaged conveniently in sets of 25, these LEDs are versatile for various electronic projects.
