This warm-white glowy letter is crafted from COB (chip on board) LEDs, reminiscent of 'Edison-like' LED bulbs, to provide a bright, warm lighting effect through strategic patterns.
The construction involves dozens of micro LED diodes bonded onto a metal backing and protected by a silicone coating. Although LEDs are mounted on one side, the thin PCB substrate allows for a subtle back-glow.
Needing only 3V to operate, these LEDs are in parallel, but ensure to use a resistor to cap the current at 100mA. Despite their rigidity, they uniformly glow, mimicking tungsten filaments.
Lightweight, they can be arranged into words and easily affixed to surfaces, sewn onto fabric, or tied using fishing line. Being a 'big long LED,' PWM dimming is straightforward.
To power, simply connect 3V to both ends—look for the cathode's minus symbol. Should it not light up, reversing the connection often resolves the issue.
Compatible with Arcade Button Quick-Connect Wire Pairs - 0.11" (10 pack) or soldering/clipping onto bottom tabs for an easy and effective connection.
