Adafruit VCNL4020 Proximity and Light Sensor - STEMMA QT / Qwiic

The VCNL4020 sensor is a versatile two-in-one solution featuring both a proximity sensor with a range of 0 to 200mm and a light sensor capable of measuring from 0.26 to 16,000 lux.

This sensor stands out for its ability to accurately determine distance, whether it's the height of a calming bumble bee or the closeness of an object. Additionally, it measures ambient light, informing scenarios where light conditions are crucial.

Compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic levels, the VCNL4020 is mounted on a breakout PCB with support circuitry. This design ensures easy integration with platforms like Feather, Raspberry Pi, and Arduino using I2C two-wire communication.

To streamline connectivity, SparkFun qwiic-compatible STEMMA QT connectors are included, eliminating the need for soldering. This effortless setup allows quick deployment in your projects.

The sensor delivers 16-bit light level readings at 0.25 lux per bit and supports various sampling rates. While averaging filters reduce spikes, there are no additional sensitivity or integration time controls. A QT Cable is available separately.
