Add short-hop wireless to your Feather with these RadioFruit FeatherWings. These versatile add-ons support packetized radio using the RFM69 or LoRa modules, making them ideal for creating communication bridges over kilometer ranges.

The RFM69 radio is available at 433 MHz for European uses or 900 MHz for American deployments, providing straightforward integration with established Arduino libraries. The RFM9x LoRa variant excels at longer distances, offering greater power and range.

Key benefits include a +20 dBm power output for transmissions, AES-128 encrypted packet engine, and the ability to create multipoint networks with unique node addresses. Expect a range of approximately 350 meters, modifiable using antennas and power tweaks for greater distances.

Tested to ensure compatibility with Feather boards like the ESP8266, Teensy 3, WICED Feather, Feather 32u4, and Feather M0 series, the FeatherWing requires some setup to align with the chipset you plan to use.

Each radio module is sold individually and is compatible exclusively with other radios of the same frequency and modulation type. Basic soldering skills are required to attach headers and configure your antenna, whether using a simple wire or an optional external duck via uFL or SMA connectors.
