Adafruit PyBadge for MakeCode Arcade, CircuitPython, or Arduino

What's the size of a credit card and can run CircuitPython, MakeCode Arcade or Arduino? It’s the Adafruit PyBadge! This compact development board, measuring just 3 3/8 × 2 1/8 inches, packs a lot of possibilities into its sleek, rounded rectangle form.

The PyBadge is powered by the ATSAMD51 chip with 512KB of flash and 192KB of RAM, plus an additional 2MB of QSPI flash for storing images, fonts, sounds, or game assets. The front features a 1.8" 160x128 color TFT display with dimmable backlight, ensuring fast screen updates with DMA support. Eight silicone-top buttons are arranged to mimic a handheld gaming device, offering a tactile and comfortable grip. Five NeoPixel LEDs can dazzle or track activity while a built-in buzzer-speaker provides audio output. A 3-axis accelerometer detects motion, taps, and free-fall, complemented by a front-facing light sensor.

The back of the board includes full Feather-compatible header sockets, allowing for FeatherWing expansion. Three STEMMA connectors provide additional flexibility: two 3-pin connectors for ADC/PWM capability and one 4-pin I2C connection, ideal for Grove sensors. With an optional adjustable volume, an external 8 ohm speaker can be connected for enhanced audio projects.

Power options are plentiful with a port for LiPoly batteries and a Micro USB port for battery charging and programming. An on-off switch conserves power when needed. Programming is versatile with options including MakeCode Arcade for beginner-friendly game creation, CircuitPython for graphic-drawing and file-handling in Python, and Arduino for more advanced control.
