Attaching NeoPixel strips to your costume can be a challenge due to the risk of cracking flexible PCBs. Solve this with stranded NeoPixel LEDs, elegantly designed in adorable ball shapes. Each strand consists of 20 balls, each housing a single RGB NeoPixel connected by cabling, spaced 6" apart.
Each orb is individually addressable with 8 bits per RGB channel, creating up to 16 million color possibilities. NeoPixels are 5050-sized LEDs equipped with an embedded microcontroller, allowing for precise brightness control.
The LEDs function like shift registers, transferring incoming data on input pins and forwarding previous data via output pins. Control an infinite number of LEDs by adding or disconnecting them as needed. The PWM built into each LED ensures consistent brightness without ongoing communication.
These strands come with 20 digitally-addressable pixel LEDs and JST 3-pin SM connectors, enabling easy chaining. The red wire represents +5V, the middle wire is for data, and the black wire is ground. Follow our tutorial for step-by-step NeoPixel wiring, power usage calculations, and coding examples to maximize your creative projects.
