This RP2040 Feather offers a seamless digital video output, ideal for displaying high-quality graphics directly from microcontrollers to HDMI monitors or televisions. It merges our RP2040 Feather and DVI Breakout board, providing a convenient all-in-one solution.
The Feather retains all its essential features, including all pins, LiPoly battery support, USB C power/data, and an onboard NeoPixel. Additionally, it boasts 8MB of FLASH for code and file storage, with an added DVI output from 8 unused pins.
Leverage CircuitPython or the PicoDVI library in Arduino or Pico SDK for flexible development. In Arduino, create a 320x240 or 400x240 internal framebuffer and see your graphics rendered as pixel-doubled 640x480 or 800x480 digital video.
The device fully utilizes one core, both PIOs, and a significant chunk of SRAM, thus being resource-intensive. Its functionality depends on our AdafruitGFX library, familiar to TFT or OLED display users.
For advanced configurations, the HDMI connectors’ I2C pins are connected via a safe level shifter, enabling EDID EEPROM reading. Additional support includes CEC and utility pad breakouts, plus a Hot Plug Detect pin for detecting connected displays, ensuring full compatibility and operational feedback.
