Adafruit eInk Breakout Friend with 32KB SRAM

Add some bi-stability to your projects with the Adafruit EInk Breakout Friend. This reliable companion is designed to interface seamlessly with small to medium-sized EInk displays via a standard 24-pin connection.

The integrated circuitry includes power supply support and level shifting, allowing you to connect your chosen display (up to tri-color 4.2") effortlessly to your development board. Take advantage of our CircuitPython or Arduino libraries to create a flexible frame buffer, outputting your desired visuals directly to the display.

Unlike standard breakouts, the EInk Friend comes with a 256 Kilobit (32 Kilobyte) SRAM chip, enabling full control over a 4.2" 300x400 tri-color display without the need for extensive frame buffering on your microcontroller. The chip shares the SPI port with the display, ensuring minimal pin usage.

Enjoy ultra-low power applications with the onboard 3.3V regulator, which includes an Enable pin to easily manage power to the SRAM and display. Customize the default 0.5-ohm RESE resistor to 3 ohms if needed for specific requirements through soldering adjustments. This product is compatible with any EInk display that has a 24-pin FPC connector.

A soldering iron is required for header attachment to assist in breadboarding or project installation, with the product arriving fully assembled and tested. Note that an EInk display is not included. Always verify your display's compatibility with the provided schematics prior to purchase.
