DotStar LED strips provide advanced lighting capabilities, offering a substantial upgrade over NeoPixel strips. Powered by a 2-wire SPI protocol, they allow faster data transfer without specific timing requirements, utilizing a separate clock pin and data pin for enhanced control flexibility.

Each 5050-sized LED integrates an embedded microcontroller, enabling 24-bit color customization with a high 20 KHz PWM refresh rate, ensuring smooth color transitions and minimal flickering, particularly at low brightness levels or when in motion.

Compatible with various microcontrollers and processors such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and more, these strips can be easily extended or customized for length with cut-lines every 0.65 inches. They come in various density options: 30, 60, and 144 LEDs per meter on both black and white flexible PCBs.

Weatherproof sheathing protects the flexible PCB material, making DotStar strips ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications. They require a 5V DC power supply and offer connectivity via 4-pin JST SM connectors per 4-meter reel, accommodating custom setups efficiently with available tutorials and accessories.
