Adafruit 7.0" 40-pin TFT Display - 800x480 without Touchscreen

This 7.0" TFT screen features an impressive 800x480 resolution, ideal for displaying detailed graphics. Known for its use in miniature TVs, GPS devices, and car displays, it offers ample space for vibrant visuals.

The screen includes a 40-pin connector equipped with 24-bit color capability through 8 red, 8 green, and 8 blue parallel pins. While this version excludes a touchscreen, it matches the quality of more expensive models without the resistive panel.

Designed as a "raw pixel-dot-clock" display, it demands constant refreshing at 60Hz. Suitable processors, such as those in the BeagleBone, can support these RGB TTL displays natively, but small microcontrollers typically cannot. For efficient operation, pair it with an advanced driver board like the Adafruit RA8875.

The LED backlight requires a 125-150mA constant-current boost converter, up to 9V, differing from other displays running on 5V. For HDMI or DVI control, consider the TFP401 driver board.
