SparkFun OpenLog

Description Attachments

The SparkFun OpenLog is an exceptional open-source data logger that operates via a simple serial connection and is compatible with microSD cards up to 32GB. This device can effectively store or "log" a vast amount of serial data, acting as a reliable black box for your project. It is ideal for both scientific and debugging purposes, storing all the serial data your project produces.

The OpenLog is powered by an ATmega328 that runs at 16MHz, thanks to the onboard resonator. It is energy-efficient, drawing only 2-3mA in idle mode when there's nothing to record. However, during full record mode, OpenLog can draw between 10 to 20mA, depending on the microSD card in use.

All data logged by the OpenLog is securely stored on the microSD card. It supports any microSD card ranging from 512MB to 32GB. Both FAT16 and FAT32 SD formats are compatible with the OpenLog, ensuring maximum versatility.

For those seeking even higher performance, the OpenLog Artemis is the ideal tool. It offers logging speeds of up to 500000bps, significantly enhancing your data logging capabilities.
