The SparkFun MOSFET Power Controller is an essential tool when your microcontroller, such as Arduino or LilyPad Arduino, cannot supply the necessary current. It is excellent for controlling high-current devices like fans, heaters, or bright LEDs. To use, simply connect a battery to the JST connector on the controller, connect your device to the output, and then connect one of the digital outputs of your microcontroller to the input pads. When you drive the pin on your controller high, the battery will be connected.
The N-Channel MOSFET used in the SparkFun Power Controller is rated for up to 30V and 6.5A, but it is primarily intended for lower power use. If you plan to use anything beyond a 3.7V Li-Po battery, please proceed with caution.
The SparkFun MOSFET Power Controller's unique features include the ability to control high-current loads, a JST connector for easy battery changes, and sewability for e-textile projects. It also comes with standard 2.54mm spaced headers for added versatility.
