A Feather board without ambition is a Feather board without FeatherWings! This is the DC Motor + Stepper FeatherWing, allowing you to control 2 bi-polar stepper motors or 4 brushed DC motors (or 1 stepper and 2 DC motors). Connect with ease using Feather Stacking Headers or Feather Female Headers, and take your projects to new heights.
The FeatherWing integrates a fully-dedicated PWM driver chip that manages motor and speed controls via I2C, freeing up the Arduino's PWM pins. This setup ensures compatibility with all Feathers, allowing stackability with any FeatherWing while maintaining unique I2C addresses.
Specs include 4 full H-Bridges through the TB6612 chipset, delivering 1.2A per bridge and featuring thermal shutdown and internal kickback protection. The unit supports motors operating between 4.5VDC to 13.5VDC, enabling control of up to 4 bi-directional DC motors or 2 stepper motors with fine-tuned 12-bit speed selection.
Enjoy a completely stackable design with 5 address-select jumper pads, supporting up to 32 stackable wings, equivalent to 64 steppers or 128 DC motors. The setup includes 3.5mm terminal block connectors for easy wiring and polarity protected 2-pin terminal blocks for separate logic/motor supplies.
Ready-made Arduino software libraries simplify the setup process—just download, review the examples, and start creating! The FeatherWing comes assembled with tested components, terminal blocks, and a plain header, though some soldering is required to assemble the headers. Note that stacking headers, Feather board, and motors are not included but available for purchase separately.
