Thumb Slide Joystick

The Thumb Slide Joystick from Sparkfun is a resistive analog joystick that is reminiscent of those found on the PSP1000. This compact joystick stands out due to its unique 'slide' feeling.

The Thumb Slide Joystick is wired in a specific way. When observed from the bottom, the pin out goes as follows:

• Pin 1: x-axis output
• Pin 2: +5V

Pin 4 is closest to the 2 mounting tabs found on one side of the device. When this joystick is connected to an Arduino, it can provide a range of about 128 to 775 on each axis.

One of the unique features of this joystick is the removable rubber thumb pad. This allows for customization based on the user's comfort and preference.

The pads are spaced by 2mm. However, it is also possible to connect 2.54mm headers with a bit of bending. This makes the Thumb Slide Joystick versatile and adaptable to various setups.
