The SparkFun Rotary Switch Potentiometer Breakout features nine spots (positions 1 through 9) for resistors. These resistors are designed to be soldered in place "standing up," resembling a hairpin bend. On the board's opposite side, you will find three pins for attaching leads or a connector. These include CCW (Counterclockwise end of resistor string), W (Wiper), and CW (Clockwise end of resistor string).
Please note, however, that this breakout does not include a 10-position rotary switch. You'll need to acquire the correct switch separately.
This product comes with a variety of helpful resources to assist you. These include a schematic, Eagle Files, a Hookup Guide, and a GitHub repository with example code and design files. There's also a product video available for visual guidance.
The SparkFun Rotary Switch Potentiometer Breakout is a unique and versatile tool in the world of electronics. It's not only practical for specific applications requiring custom resistance values, but it's also an excellent learning tool for those interested in the intricacies of electronics and circuit design. With its small size and easy-to-use design, it's a valuable addition to any electronics toolkit.
