SparkFun Logomatic v2 - Serial SD Datalogger (FAT32)

The SparkFun Logomatic v2 - Serial SD Datalogger (FAT32) is a sophisticated and user-friendly device that simplifies the process of logging analog or serial data from your projects. This upgraded version boasts several new features including the LPC2148 with microUSB, battery charging, FAT32 formatting, and microSD support. These features allow for the use of the SparkFun LPC2148 USB bootloader, enabling easy and rapid modification of firmware without the need for a programmer.

The Logomatic v2 stands out with its USB mass storage stack, which allows it to function as a flash drive under any operating system. The device creates logs in FAT32 format on the microSD media, which can be quickly downloaded via a USB connection by simply dragging and dropping the text files. Alternatively, the microSD card can be removed and inserted into a card reader for log downloads.

Equipped with a JST connector, the Logomatic v2 can be powered using LiPo batteries or other power sources up to 7.5VDC. If you opt for LiPo batteries, the device's built-in charger can charge batteries off USB, adding to its convenience.

The Logomatic v2 comes pre-loaded with basic serial text and analog logging firmware. While users can start with this firmware, they are encouraged to modify it to suit their specific needs, making it a truly flexible logger.

Key features of the Logomatic v2 include the LPC2148 ARM7, 512K user flash, 10 available GPIO pins, 2 status LEDs, a microUSB Link LED, an external interrupt, and a microSD socket. It is compatible with most SDHC flash media, removing the previous 2GB limit. The device also has a built-in MCP73831 USB charger (500mA max) and a built-in USB mass storage device bootloader. The dimensions of the device are approximately 3.8cm x 6.1cm.
