The PCA9306 is a dual bidirectional I2C-bus and SMBus voltage-level translator. It operates on the low side from 1.2V to 3.3V and on the high side from 1.8V to 5.5V. To use it, simply apply your low and high-side reference voltages to the VREF1 and VREF2 respectively, connect your I/O and drive the Enable pin high. This will open bidirectional voltage translation without the need for a direction pin.
SparkFun has improved this classic board by using a new footprint. They have also added a second ground pin and broken out the enable pin. These updates make the PCA9306 more versatile and user-friendly, enhancing its functionality and ease of use.
SparkFun provides comprehensive support for the PCA9306. This includes a detailed schematic, Eagle Files, a Hookup Guide, a datasheet (PCA9306DC), and a GitHub Hardware Repo. These resources are designed to help you get the most out of your PCA9306, whether you're an experienced engineer or a hobbyist.
With the SparkFun Level Translator Breakout - PCA9306, you can easily manage voltage translations, making your engineering projects more efficient and less complicated. This tool is not just functional but also versatile and user-friendly, making it a valuable addition to any engineer's or hobbyist's toolkit.
