Imagine being able to wirelessly connect your Arduino projects or GNSS breakout boards without the hassle of cables. The BlueSMiRF v2 makes this possible with its straightforward pairing and connection process. It's ideal for short-range applications up to 33 meters indoors, requiring simple point-to-point communication. Whether you're viewing data on a phone or computer or setting up remote controls, the BlueSMiRF v2 offers a versatile and user-friendly solution.
This version of the BlueSMiRF features significant improvements over its predecessor. It shares the same pinout as previous Bluetooth Mates and USB-to-serial converters, making it compatible with a wide range of devices, including Arduino Pro, Pro Mini, LilyPad Arduino 328 Main, ZED-F9P, and more. The board's pins are broken out to a 1x6 header, requiring either a 1x6 female header or striped wires for connection.
The BlueSMiRF v2 can be easily configured from a phone using a serial terminal app. Adjusting settings like baud rate, flow control, and LED mode is straightforward with the AT command set. Additionally, Over The Air (OTA) updates via WiFi ensure your firmware stays up-to-date with new features.
Equipped with an onboard voltage regulator, the BlueSMiRF v2 operates between 3.3V and 5V. It includes logic level shifting circuitry for 3.3V to 5V tolerance on all pins. For higher voltages, an RS232 to TTL converter is needed. The board also features two LEDs to indicate connection status and serial UART traffic.
