This versatile breakout is equipped with a camera and onboard image processing, enabling it to recognize and decode over 30 symbologies, including both 1D and 2D formats. It functions similarly to traditional laser scanners but with the added capability of reading 2D matrix codes from various surfaces, including screens and paper.
With universal decoding, this scanner can handle everything from standard UPC/EAN product codes to complex QR, Data Matrix, and Aztec codes. Its dual-LED system includes a white LED for scene illumination and a red LED that projects an aiming line for precise scanning. The addition of a buzzer and status LED provides immediate audio-visual feedback for every successful scan.
The breakout offers embedded access for permanent installations, featuring a 5-pin header for direct access to the TTL serial pins, power pins, and trigger input. The DE2290D module can be configured via the serial interface or by scanning command barcodes, catering to two primary use cases: USB Mode and Embedded Mode.
In USB Mode, all keyboard, HID, and serial data are transmitted through a single USB-C connector. The module can enumerate all three protocols simultaneously, including a CDC serial driver that presents the device as a standard COM port on your computer. In Embedded Mode, the 5-pin header allows direct access to TTL serial pins, power, and trigger input for microcontroller projects like Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
The DE2290D module is adaptable to specific applications through multiple supported working modes, including Manual, Auto Sense, Continuous, and Command control, making it a smart choice for diverse scanning needs.
