Adafruit Rugged Metal Silver Finish Pushbutton - 16mm 6V RGB Latching

By popular demand, we now have latching rugged metal push buttons with a full color RGB LED ring light! These chrome-plated metal buttons are both rugged and stylish. Simply drill a 16mm hole into any material up to 1/4" thick to fit them in place, complete with a rubber gasket for water protection.

The front features a flat metal actuator encircled by a plastic RGB LED ring, while the back hosts two gold contacts for the button and four for the RGB LED ring (one anode and three cathodes for red, green, and blue). Power the anode at 3-6V and illuminate the LED by grounding the required contacts—no additional resistor needed. For higher voltages like 12V or 24V, a 1K ohm resistor keeps the LED current at approximately 20mA.

This latching push button operates simply; press and release to short the 'normally-open' contact, and press again to disengage. The switch and LED function independently, allowing microcontroller use to manage both contact reading and color control, enabling customizable lighting experiences.
