Adafruit Rugged Metal On/Off Switch - 19mm 6V RGB On/Off

Rugged metal buttons now come with a vibrant full-color RGB LED ring light for a blend of durability and style. These 19mm On/Off chrome-plated metal buttons are built tough but add a dash of visual flair to any setup.

To integrate, drill a 19mm hole into materials up to 0.45" thick. A rubber gasket ensures a watertight seal, keeping components safe from moisture.

Each button features a flat metal actuator fronted by a plastic RGB LED ring. The back hosts 4 metal contacts for the RGB LED: one anode and 3 cathodes for red, green, and blue. Spade contacts are also available for switch functions.

Power the anode with 3-6V, grounding desired color contacts to activate their LEDs. A built-in resistor facilitates safe operation. For higher voltages like 12V or 24V, adding a 1K ohm resistor in series helps maintain LED current at around 20mA.

The RGB pins can be modulated via PWM to achieve any color. The SPDT switch inside the button features common, NO, and NC spade contacts, ensuring reliable connections as you press to toggle states.

With the LED and switch electrically separated, microcontrollers can independently manage contact readings and color toggling for optimal functionality.
