Big, segmented, and hexagonal, this towering hex-segmented digit display stands at an impressive 2.3 inches tall, so large it doesn't fit on a single breadboard. With bright red segments, each unit boasts a 16-segment digit and includes one functional decimal point. The other point remains unlit, easily hidden with a black marker for visual consistency.
Specifications include a common anode connection suitable for 5VDC power. To activate each segment, connect a 200-1000 ohm resistor from each cathode to ground, via a 74HC595 IC or directly from a microcontroller pin. This component doesn't come with a driver or backpack; however, its capability to illuminate individual segments makes it ideal for a variety of digital display applications.
