The Type 5 Pocket Geiger Radiation Sensor from Radiation Watch is an extremely sensitive device, specifically crafted for embedded systems. This sensor is proficient in detecting both Gamma and Beta radiation, and provides a simple pulsed output compatible with any microcontroller. Radiation Watch offers several documents and example Arduino code to help you get started, along with a Windows example program in C# for graph output to a computer using Arduino as the reader.

The compact Geiger sensors have a measurement range of 0.05uSv/h to 10mSv/h at 0.01cpm to 300Kcpm, requiring a measurement time of just two minutes. The Pocket Geiger features an onboard DC boost circuit, allowing for a supply voltage of 3V to 9V. With a power consumption of only 30mW (10mA @ 3V), it is a low-power device. The package also includes an optional enclosure and 3.5mm cable.
