The Person Sensor combines an image sensor and a microcontroller within a single board, making it a compact, low-power (~150 milliwatts), and cost-effective solution for adding facial detection and recognition capabilities to your project. It can identify the number and location of faces relative to the device, making it an ideal choice for projects that require human presence detection, face tracking, or personalized user experiences.
The Person Sensor is part of the SparkFun Qwiic Connect System, a comprehensive ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables designed for hassle-free prototyping. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, ensuring easy assembly and error-free connections.
Features:
Note: The sensor uses an internal image sensor, requiring a clear field of view and correct mounting orientation. You can identify the sensor side of the board by spotting the small lens in the center. The correct orientation is when the silkscreen writing “Useful Sensors Person Sensor V1.0” is upright.
