The SEN54 sensor module by Sensirion is a versatile device that combines four measurements - particulate matter, VOC, humidity, and temperature - into one compact package. This multi-functional sensor offers fully calibrated outputs through a digital interface, a robust lifespan under continuous 24-hour operation, and a small form factor. Having all these measurement parameters in one device simplifies design and integration, accelerates development times, and streamlines the supply chain. The module also features the Sensirion Temperature Acceleration Routine (STAR) engine, which enhances the device’s response to ambient temperature changes by a factor of 2-3. This ensures a superior user experience and more precise measurements.
The SEN54 module is equipped with a GHR style 'locking' JST connector. It comes with a 6-pin compatible cable that is terminated in breadboard pins, making it easy to connect to the SEN54. Please be advised that the generic 6-pin GHR cable is used, and the wire colors do not adhere to the conventional 'red for 5V' connections. Refer to the SEN54 Cable Colors image for the correct wire color and pin function.
It's important to note that the SEN54 uses I2C to communicate at 3.3V but requires 5V for power. The Qwiic Boost is recommended to connect this sensor easily to the Qwiic system.
