The OpenMV H7 Plus Camera is a compact, low-power microcontroller board designed for easy implementation of machine vision applications in real-world scenarios. It features 32 MB of external 32-bit SDRAM and 32 MB of external quad SPI flash. Programming is done using high-level Python scripts via the MicroPython Operating System, simplifying the handling of complex machine vision algorithm outputs and high-level data structures. Despite the ease of use, you retain full control over the camera and its I/O pins, allowing for responsive actions based on external events or machine vision algorithm results.
The camera is equipped with an OV5640 image sensor capable of capturing 2592x1944 (5MP) images. Simple algorithms typically operate between 25-50 FPS at QVGA (320x240) resolutions and below. The OpenMV H7 Plus supports removable camera modules, enabling the use of Global Shutter and FLIR Lepton sensors for advanced computer vision tasks. It's ideal for applications such as frame differencing, face detection, eye and marker tracking, QR code detection/decoding, shape detection, and more.
