Adafruit NeoPixel RGBW LEDs w/ Integrated Driver Chip - Cool White

Brighten your innovations with Smart RGB+White LEDs. These advanced NeoPixels integrate four LEDs in each unit—red, green, blue, and white—delivering vibrant lighting effects. Ideal for customized designs, these LEDs allow limitless arrangements facilitated by an integrated LED driver.

This RGB + Cool White version features a black casing and a package containing ten individual LEDs. Frequently compared to a yellow starburst, unlit these LEDs transform into a dazzling light source when illuminated. Employing 8-bit PWM per channel, they offer 32-bit color depth, enabling brilliant combinations of colorful and warm white hues.

The compact 5050 (5mm x 5mm) SMD LEDs are straightforward to solder, providing the most efficient way to incorporate multiple bright LEDs into your design. For prototyping, utilize our 5050-size LED breakout PCBs to create a breadboard-friendly setup. The NeoPixel LEDs use an 800 KHz protocol with specific timing, offering a 400 Hz PWM rate, suitable for stationary applications.

Unlike DotStars, which excel in motion, NeoPixels offer seamless integration facilitated by an embedded microcontroller, allowing brightness adjustments for each R/G/B/W segment. Each LED functions as a shift register, enabling the control of an infinite chain of LEDs by sending a continuous data string. The built-in PWM ensures consistent operation, freeing up your resources.

Please note, an RGBW-supported NeoPixel library is necessary to avoid operational anomalies. Our Adafruit NeoPixel library accommodates RGBW configurations, though other libraries might require adjustments.
