This linear slide potentiometer offers more than just manual adjustments. A slim geared DC motor beneath it moves the wiper smoothly, allowing for automated interaction without human input. Ideal for light robotics, it serves as both an interactive control and a linear feedback sensor.
The potentiometer functions as a classic 3-pin resistor divider, while the motor requires a 2-pin 5V~10V DC with an H-bridge driver for bidirectional control. When not powered, the slider moves manually. The connected touchpad can integrate with a capacitive touch sensor, detecting touch when using a conductive slider knob.
To position the slider, your code should read the potentiometer's analog voltage, adjust the motor direction accordingly until the desired position is reached, and then halt the motor. Each unit comes as a standalone motorized slide potentiometer, with any Arduino-like microcontroller capable of controlling its operations. Note that an H-Bridge controller is not supplied.
