Infrared Proximity Contactless Button

The Sparkfun IR Proximity Contactless Button is an innovative solution for situations where a standard push-button isn't suitable or desired. This button is designed with a built-in microcontroller that efficiently filters out interference or noise. It also features a bi-color status LED that provides visual feedback once a "touch" is registered. The button comes with two potentiometers at the back, which allow you to adjust the read range from 3 to 15 cm and the "open time" from 0.5 to 20 seconds. All these features are housed in a fire and UV resistant package that can be easily mounted on most panels and surfaces.

NOTE As of 1st March 2022, the operating voltage range for this product has been updated to 12-24VDC from the previous 12V.

The Sparkfun IR Proximity Contactless Button offers a range of features:

• A built-in microcontroller that decodes the infrared signal, effectively eliminating interference from noise.
• A bi-color status LED (Power on: Red/ Proximity: Blue) for clear visual feedback.
• An adjustable proximity range of 3 to 15 cm (default: 15 cm).
• Support for adjustable opening time of 0.5 to 20 seconds (default: 0.5 seconds) or latched ON or OFF output.
• A fire and UV resistant polycarbonate material enclosure.
