Adafruit GA1A12S202 Log-scale Analog Light Sensor

Upgrade your project with the GA1A12S202 analog light sensor, an enhanced alternative to traditional photocells. Unlike most light sensors, it features a true log-lin relationship with light levels, providing excellent sensitivity in low light and preventing maxing out in bright conditions.

This sensor operates over a broad dynamic range of 3 to 55,000 Lux, making it versatile for both indoor and outdoor applications without the need for re-calibration. Its chip fabrication minimizes manufacturing variations, ensuring consistent performance across different boards.

Installation is straightforward: connect Vin to 2.3-6VDC, ground to Gnd, and measure the analog output on OUT. For Arduino setups, connect OUT to an analog pin and use analogRead(). With built-in resistance to convert current to voltage, it delivers reliable readings up to 3V in bright sunlight.
