Force Sensitive Resistor - Square

The Sparkfun Force Sensitive Resistor - Square is a dynamic sensor that adjusts its resistance based on the pressure applied to its sensing area. The resistance decreases as the applied force increases, with a range from 100g to 10kg. When there's no pressure, the resistance is greater than 1MΩ. The sensor's dimensions are 44.45mm x 38.1mm.

The sensor is equipped with two pins that extend from its base with a 2.54mm pitch, making it compatible with breadboards. It also features a peel-and-stick rubber backing on the opposite side of the sensing area for easy mounting.

This force sensitive resistor is ideal for detecting pressure changes. However, while it's perfect for identifying whether it's being squeezed, it might not be the best choice for precise measurements like a scale. It's straightforward to set up, making it a great choice for a variety of projects.
