Fermion: DS3231 Precise RTC (Breakout)

The real-time clock module, equipped with the DS3231 chip, offers precise and dependable timekeeping by integrating a crystal resonator and temperature compensator. The accuracy remains within ±3.5ppm throughout a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, ensuring reliable performance with a deviation of merely ±0.3024 seconds per day.

This module is designed to preserve time accuracy even when the main power is interrupted, courtesy of a convenient battery input. It delivers comprehensive time and date information in seconds, minutes, hours, day, month, and year. Notably, it has the capability to automatically adjust for months' end and includes leap year corrections.

Users can select between 24-hour or 12-hour time formats, complete with an AM/PM indicator for flexibility and convenience. The module includes two programmable alarms to cater to various time-based needs, as well as a programmable square-wave output. The RST pin doubles as a microprocessor reset input through a push-button.

It's important to note that stricter air cargo regulations affect the shipping of specialized items, such as batteries, magnets, and liquids. As a result, this RTC module is now shipped without a battery. Purchasers should acquire a compatible CR1220 button cell battery locally to ensure uninterrupted timekeeping functionality.
