Add Internet to your next project with an adorable, bite-sized WiFi microcontroller, at a price you like! This module contains an ESP8285, which is an ESP8266 processor with 1MB of FLASH memory already built in.
You can use it just like an ESP8266; it's the same processor and WiFi. The ESP8266 processor from Espressif is an 80 MHz microcontroller with a full WiFi front-end, functioning as both a client and an access point, and includes a TCP/IP stack with DNS support.
The ESP8285's integrated FLASH memory makes it more compact and slightly more cost-effective. While it doesn't offer the full 4MB of the ESP8266 SMT module, it's remarkably convenient and budget-friendly.
These modules are very easy to hand solder, featuring large pads and a built-in antenna. Equipped with the NodeMCU Lua firmware, they're ready for immediate programming and use. To get started, a few additional components are recommended; consult the HUZZAH schematic for details. Please note, this product is designed for advanced users, as it only includes the module itself, which can present challenges in application.
