The TLV493D 3-axis magnetometer is a versatile sensor designed to detect magnets in three dimensions. It can be used for innovative projects such as making a joystick or detecting magnetic objects for interactive applications.
This sensor excels in measuring nearby magnetic fields up to +130 mT with a high resolution of 12 bits for each axis (Bx, By, Bz), ensuring accurate angle sensing. It provides digital output through a 2-wire I2C interface, supporting speeds up to 1 MBit/sec.
It's embedded on a breakout PCB for ease of use, equipped with a voltage regulator and logic level shifting, making it compatible with microcontrollers operating at either 3.3V or 5V. The board includes SparkFun Qwiic-compatible STEMMA QT connectors, allowing seamless integration with other similar devices without soldering.
With its I2C communication protocol, only two wires are needed for interfacing, enabling simultaneous connectivity with other I2C sensors. Additionally, Infineon provides an Arduino library for this sensor, while a library for CircuitPython and Python facilitates use with Raspberry Pi and other Linux computers.
