New from Adafruit, the STEMMA TSL2561 lux sensor offers seamless integration with your electronics projects. Connect easily via alligator clips for Flora, Gemma, or Circuit Playground, or use plug-and-play compatibility with STEMMA and Seeed Grove cables.
This advanced digital light sensor excels in various lighting levels, supporting precise lux calculations from as low as 0.1 to beyond 40,000 Lux. It features both infrared and full-spectrum diodes, offering measurements of infrared, full-spectrum, or visible light. Unlike typical sensors, this mimics human vision accurately.
The TSL2561 communicates through a digital i2c interface, accommodating up to three simultaneous sensors with different addresses. With an integrated ADC, it works with any microcontroller, eliminating the need for analog inputs. Its low power consumption, approximately 0.5mA while active and under 15 uA in powerdown mode, is perfect for energy-efficient data logging systems.
Complete with level-shifting and protection circuitry on power and data lines, this sensor ensures compatibility and safety in design. Adafruit provides a comprehensive tutorial with CircuitPython and Arduino examples, ensuring effortless integration and precise lux readings.
