The Thermal Camera FeatherWing harnesses the power of the Panasonic AMG8833 8x8 GridEYE sensor to deliver real-time heat vision capability to any Feather main board. This versatile sensor offers a simple integration with Feather boards, utilizing our Feather Stacking Headers or Feather Female Headers for seamless connectivity.

The 8x8 array of IR thermal sensors provides 64 individual infrared temperature readings over I2C, making it a compact version of high-end thermal cameras. It measures temperatures from 0°C to 80°C with an accuracy of ±2.5°C.

Detect humans from as far as 7 meters with its thermal sensing prowess. With a 10Hz frame rate, it is ideal for personal projects like human detection or building a mini thermal camera. The sensor's I2C communication pairs perfectly with fast Feathers like the ESP8266, ESP32, or Teensy, allowing for advanced grid interpolation and enhanced results.

Included Arduino and CircuitPython libraries facilitate ease of use, while a configurable interrupt pin adds functionality, triggering alerts based on temperature thresholds you define.
