How do you build a Tesla Coil?

Winding the Primary Coil:

To wind the primary coil you need a thin piece of PVC pipe, I used one of 32 mm thick. You can determine the height of the coil yourself, mine is 26 cm high. If you have wound the coil, you can also put a cap on the top of the coil.

The beginning of the spool must be taped with tape to hold it. Leave about 20 cm of thread at the beginning. After that you can keep your nail along the wire so that it is neatly next to each other. You have to do this until you only have 2 cm left at the top, then you can stop wrapping and stick the end with tape. At the end you need to leave a piece of thread, about 10 cm, on the bobbin and cut it off at the end. When winding the coil, do not forget to tape it sometimes! Otherwise you can start all over again. The beginning of the spool must be taped with tape to hold it. Leave about 20 cm of thread at the beginning. Winding the secondary coil: Now you need your black 22 awg wire and a lot thicker PVC tubing than you wrapped the primary coil with.

First you stick the top wire of the coil to the PVC tube with insulation tape. Then you can wrap the wire around the PVC pipe four times and also tape the lower wire with insulation tape. Leave about 6 inches (15 cm) of wire on both sides so that the wires can still be connected. First you stick the top wire of the coil to the PVC tube with insulation tape. Place the primary coil in the middle of the secondary coil and screw it into a plank. Your coil should now look like this:
