Leveraging 1/2 watt of peak power, the sensor employs an efficient transformer to drive the transducer, ensuring optimal acoustic output. Its robust design features dynamic gain control, thorough waveform signature evaluation, and advanced noise rejection methods. From detecting objects as proximate as 3 cm to measuring up to 645 cm (21.2 feet), this sensor provides versatile sonar range readings. It delivers precise distance measurement with an impressive 1-cm resolution from 20 cm to 645 cm. Even objects detected at the shortest range, 3 cm to 20 cm, are consistently represented as 20 cm.

Multiple output formats enhance the sensor's utility, including pulse width, analog voltage, and serial digital outputs, thus allowing seamless integration with different systems. However, note that this sensor operates without temperature compensation, requiring consideration during use in varying thermal conditions.
